U.S. April Tractor Sales Up 12%, Combine Sales Down 4%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s monthly “Flash Report,” the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in 2018, were up 12% in April compared to 2018.

For the year, a total of 73,820 tractors were sold which compares to 68,147 sold in 2018 representing an 8% increase for the year.

For the month of April, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 17% compared to last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 7%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 32%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 13% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 3%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 27%.

Combine sales were down 4% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 1,462 compared to 719 in 2018, an 19% increase.
